This statement describes Lumi Frames accessibility on lumi-frame.com: the standard we work to, what we've built in, where we know the site falls short, and how to reach us. It covers every page of this website, including our shop, guides and order forms.
Our goal: WCAG 2.2 Level AA
We design and build this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG 2.2 is the current version of the W3C's guidelines. It first became a W3C Recommendation in October 2023 and has three levels of conformance: A, AA and AAA.
Our current status is partially conformant. In the W3C's accessibility statement wording, that means some parts of the content don't yet fully conform to the standard. We haven't completed a formal evaluation against every WCAG 2.2 success criterion, so we don't claim full conformance, and we list the gaps we know about below.
What we've built in

Each time we build the site, an automated check flags pages with missing image text alternatives, skipped heading levels, form fields without labels and tables without header cells, so we can fix them before they're published. Automated checks catch only some problems, which is why your feedback matters.
Standards we follow
We design and test Lumi Frames against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That level includes WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice's 2024 web accessibility rule for state and local governments, and it goes beyond WCAG 2.0 Level AA, which Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act refers to. The accessibility panel is an extra convenience; the site is built to work with assistive technology without it.
Known limitations
- Animated decorative lighting. Our logo and some frame illustrations show a slow, continuous glow that moves on its own. There's no pause button on the page yet. The animation stops when your device's reduce-motion setting is on.
- Placeholder product images. Some product images are placeholders: an animated illustration, or a photo of a different Lumi Frames model. On product pages, a caption or text alternative says what is actually shown. In product listings, placeholder photos are marked as decorative, so screen readers skip them. If you need a precise description of a frame, ask us.
- Light effects are hard to show. Photos and animations can't fully capture how a lit frame looks in a room, for anyone. We describe each frame's lighting in words on its product page as well.
- Payment pages. Checkout happens on payment pages run by Stripe, which we don't control. If you have trouble paying there, email us and we'll help you complete your order another way.
The frames themselves
Some Lumi Frames give off moving or color-changing light. If you or someone in your home is sensitive to motion, flashing or rapidly changing light, use a steady light setting, avoid fast or music-reactive effects, or ask us before you order. For example, the Lumi Frames Neon includes a static light effect alongside its flowing multicolor scenes, can be dimmed, and can be controlled from an app, a remote or an in-line button. Report a Lumi Frames accessibility problem
If you find a barrier on this site, or need information in a different format, please tell us. It helps to include:
- the address (URL) of the page;
- what you were trying to do and what happened; and
- the browser and any assistive technology you use, such as a screen reader or magnifier.
Use the contact form or email hello@lumi-frame.com. We reply within 1 business day. If the contact form is hard to use, email works just as well, and you're welcome to tell us how you'd prefer us to reply. We can also help you choose a frame and place an order entirely by email.
